7/1/2023 0 Comments Hollow knight grub![]() The place where the grubs congregate has no moth symbolism, the items you acquire from the grubs have nothing to suggest a connection between the two - in fact the second charm, "Grubberfly's elergy" suggests that the grubs turn into a type of fly rather than moths, with the icon depicting 4 sets of fly-like wings rather than the moth-wings you would expect. I've heard this theory before and honestly I hate it, there is nothing ingame indicating towards grubs having anything to do with moths. Hell, the Radiance itself might've once been a grub or wyrm like the Pale King was. It wouldn't be the first time a bug became a god-like deity. Maybe he was afraid of a future Radiance-like entity being born? Or of another moth tribe being receptive to bringing the Radiance back? Perhaps these grubs are special because they were meant to birth a successor to the Radiance.Īfter all, the Pale King was once a Wyrm or grub-like creature himself, and he was somehow transformed into what we see him as. After all, the Seer seems to be the last of her kind, and the Radiance itself is a moth-like creature. It's possible that the grubs are actually moth larvae, and that the Pale King had some interest in tasking the Collector with preventing these larvae from becoming full fledged moths. This is interesting given the important role moths play in the Hollow Knight universe Grubs are sometimes larvae for certain species of moths. However, the grubs remain clearly alive inside of him, and the achievement for unlocking him says "Metamorphosis", which implies the grubfather is likely acting as a cocoon for them rather than eating them outright. We know the grubfather consumes the grubs when you return them all. The drawing in the Tower of Love implies there's something special about the Vitruvian Grub The Collector is obsessed with protecting creatures, particularly grubs The Collector is oddly emotional for a void creature, and especially a creature born of the Pale King who was looking to create a creature without will or emotion ![]() There is a mold for a Collector-esque creature in the Pale King's work room ( A lot of this info I got from mossbag's video:)Īs others have said, the Collector is most likely a void creature due to its black, goopy make-up, and the fact that it doesn't give souls on hit, just like other void creatures r/demonssouls /r/darksouls /r/darksouls2 /r/darksouls3 /r/bloodborne /r/saltandsanctuary /r/castlevania /r/metroid
